New Start Program

Please help me in welcoming Mark Ford and Peter Rogers, owners of Shamrock Lacrosse , as our newest members to the Board of Trustees.

As many of you know, Mark and Peter have been nothing but overly generous and supportive of all of our chapter's programs. Over the past several years they have  donated sticks, balls and equipment to all of our events. Mark and Peter will be the chairpersons of our very successful "The New Start Program".

Program Description

The New Jersey Lacrosse Foundation is pleased to announce it’s third year of sponsoring “The New Start Program” for beginning youth and high school programs for both boys and girls.  The following items best describe our program:

 Since 1999, your chapter has assisted over 40 new programs around the state by offering the following help:

The “New Start Package” consists of  2 goals and 2 nets.

 This package is valued at approximately $500.00.  It is our policy not to award any cash gifts to any new program.  

1. Each program requesting The New Jersey Chapter’s assistance must submit a written letter/proposal that describes your program’s initiative and future plans. Please include the number of participants, age group and gender. Most importantly though, you must verify that all participants, including the coaching staff, are members of US Lacrosse, the national governing body of our sport. Please provide their membership identification numbers as well. If you need membership applications please log onto US Lacrosse’s website www.uslacrosse.org.

The proposals will be discussed and approved only at our quarterly Board of Trustees meetings. This means that there could be a potential delay of 10-12 weeks before processing. We also have a budget associated with this program. Therefore, only a finite number of programs can benefit from this program in any given year.

 A follow-up “Thank You” note is required from each program in order to confirm tat they have received their merchandise.
